3 royal icing consistencies to decorate your cookies
A few months ago we released the new package and 4.4 Lb presentation of our Royal Icing. Yaay! And in case some of you missed it, we decided to tackle a common question our followers used to have: What are the consistencies from our icing?
So stick around till the end of the article to find out how to make them, quick and easy, step by step. Let’s begin!
We begin by mixing the 1.1 Lb from our Royal Icing bag with 5 tbsp of water for 1 to 2 minutes at lower speed using a manual mixer. Beat until you get a firm, white icing.
This is your stiff consistency, from this you’ll be able to make the other consistencies. With this, you can make:
- Detailed and long lasting flowers
- Sprinkles
- Write texts and draw lines
Ready? All right! Next is the medium consistency. To make it, we take our stiff consistency and add from 15 to 20 seconds of water using a spray bottle.
This consistency will allow you to:
- Outline your cookies
- Apply covers
- Make sprinkles and transfers
And lastly, to reach our flood consistency, we add from 8 to 10 seconds of water with a spray bottle, additional from the 15-20 seconds already applied previously for the medium consistency.
With the flood consistency, you can:
- Fill huge areas in your cookies
- Make drip cakes
- Marbling your cookies with different colors
Once you get your desired consistency, apply your favorite gel food color and begin decorating your cookies!
